It's no secret that I love social media. But I know it and technology get a lot of flack for setting these unrealistic expectations and cause people anxiety, depression, and self-deprecation. Like anything else though, I believe there are two ways to look at anything and yes, social media and technology have the power to promote a lot of destruction... but, they can also do really amazing things; if we choose to see them and use them that way.
Key Points:
We spend so much time on our phones, and it kills me when I see people in groups - or worse - on dates, and people are staring at their phones instead of enjoying the people in front of them
Enjoy moments without looking at them through a lens
I was spending almost 28 hours a week on my phone - that's more than a part time job! A lot can be done in that time
I want to show you real, R-E-A-L. Not just my highlight reel
Get to know the people you're following, don't just be a another number above the Followers count
People complain about social media being perfect, but then complain when people try to be "too real"
You're never going to make everyone happy, so you might as well just do you
People see you, whether you think they see you, whether they ask you a question, like your phones etc. They see you
Social media and technology has allowed me to connect with so many of you. Yes, it has a lot of power for destruction, but it can do so much good, if you choose
