The truth episode of this introductory series asks the hard questions when we’re trying to figure out what the truth is. Do we lie to ourselves a lot? Are we what’s hindering our growth, and blocking our path to our dreams? I give an example of a time I lied to myself, and tricked myself into thinking I was accomplishing something, how the truth always finds a way of coming out. And the ways I believe our lives can improve when we’re just honest.

Key Points:

  • The truth is fickle, but it has so much power

  • Our disconnect from the truth is one of our biggest obstacles

  • We lie to ourselves when we don’t acknowledge the fear within us

  • It’s easier to live with at least the possibility of success, than the realization of failure

  • If we become honest with our fears of rejection and failure, we can get to the work of making them more confident

  • The has an enormous impact on relationships, and creating deep, lasting ones

  • When we own our truths, especially when they have shame connected, we can life such freer and happier lives

  • Tell the truth and the people who aren’t worth your time or your energy will start to weed themselves out

  • The truth always has a way of coming out

  • Don’t say you deserve something, earn it. Work for it, don’t be entitled.

Mentioned in this Episode:

  • Pravinee Hurbungs: The only people who are mad at you for speaking the truth, are those people who are living a lie.
